Community Service Projects and Programs

Service Above Self

Helping local families and individuals in need:

  • BC Wildfire and Flood Relief & Recovery Fund: over $150,000 has been raised and is being used to help those impacted by fire and flood damage in Lytton and other BC communities.
  • Sponsor an SUV for 4 years for senior’s transportation programs of the Richmond Cares Richmond Gives organization.
  • Sponsor and delivery weekly hot lunches to isolated seniors in need.
  • Provided 700 food hampers to support 35 Richmond families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Help over 200 individuals and families in need by providing pancake breakfasts throughout the year, and an annual Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Provide a Christmas lunch to over 100 socially isolated seniors

International Relief Programs:

  • Raised and donated $7,500 to provide tents and supplies to Bahamas hurricane victims.
  • Raised and donated over $13,000 for equipment to a rural fire brigade in Australia.

Education and Literacy Programs:

  • Support and administer the “Write to Read” program that has helped to create 20 libraries and learning centres in First Nations communities throughout BC.
  • Donate funds to the Amarok program to educate mothers in slum areas in Bangladesh
  • Distribute dictionaries to grade four students in Richmond schools.

We also provide financial support to other local organizations, including:

  • Fraser Marine Rescue Society for volunteer Search & Rescue.
  • RCMP D.A.R.E. program for youth drug prevention in schools.
  • Steveston Community Centre & the Richmond Food Bank.

In addition, we sponsor and support the “Interact” club at McMath High School.       

  • Over 100 students learn to organize and carry-out charitable activities under the Rotary service model.
