From FIRE to FLOOD – Districts 5040, 5050, 5060 – 2021 Disasters in British Columbia and Washington

Service Above Self

We are so appreciative of the funds donated thus far for the Wildfire victims in British Columbia. Your donations enabled the joint tri district committee via the Rotary Club of Steveston Charitable Society to address the gaps in immediate emergency services and in the interim services for those that lost their homes. This is being done through gift cards, supporting local food banks, replacing computers, providing PPE equipment and now developing plans to help with temporary structures as winter closes in. We thank all our Rotary family for their amazing support as we have raised over $68, 000 to date to help those impacted by wildfires in 2021.

However, many of our communities and fellow Rotarians in British Columbia and Washington state have now been also severely impacted by the recent flooding. A state of emergency has been declared again in British Columbia as numerous communities and highways have been severely impacted. Offers of help are being received from Rotary Clubs and other Districts and we of D5040, D5050, and D5060 are so grateful for our Rotary Family’s ongoing support!

If you or your club would like to donate to either Wildfire or Flood Recovery and Relief Efforts done by Rotarians in Districts 5040, 5050, and 5060, you can do so as follows:
